Xamoudochori is in a central position within the Chania Prefecture as it gives you the opportunity to visit many interesting places which are located in a small distance.
Platanias with its well-organised commercial centre, beautiful  beach and numerous traditional restaurants is within a 10 minutes drive. Platanias is also known for its many clubs and parties that are organised every summer by  Djs from all over Europe.

The Venetian Harbour of Chania with its several museums and picturesque narrow streets is only 19 km away from the villas. In less than half an hour, you have the opportunity to reach the centre of Chania and visit all the interesting neighbourhoods of the city. Chania  is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Greece with good reason. Don’t forget to do your shopping in the “Agora” (Market), which is located in the centre of the city. There you can find an unbelievable variety of traditional goods, with special emphasis on mizithra (soft, fresch, rather sweet cheese), graviera (hard, rather spicy cheese) and the famous Cretan rusk.

The most beautiful beaches are mainly on the west side of Chania, but even towards the south. Agia Roumeli and Sfakia are worthwhile visiting.
If you don’t want to leave the district, Agia Marina and Platanias with beautiful sandy beaches which offer numerous fun opportunities, especially as concerns sea sports and beach bars which are situated along the seaside.

You shouldn’t  miss Falassarna, Elafonissi and Paleochora, sandy beaches of unparalleled beauty that will surely amaze you.

For those who seek adventure, Samaria Gorge, the longest in Europe (18 km), is a visitor’s paradise with people coming from all over the world in order to cross it (it will take you approximately 5-6 hours).
